A DOG dying from cancer was found at an allotment site.
The elderly female Australian Shepherd was discovered alive at Hillview allotments in Old Shoreham Road, Southwick but as she was in severe pain and treatment was not possible, she was put to sleep by vets. She was too weak to stand and had a large exposed wound on her left chest and was caught in netting last Wednesday.
West Sussex County Council’s Dog Warden Service took her to a vets as an emergency, where she was diagnosed as having an advanced untreated cancer. She was then put to sleep. She had no microchip so the council has been unable to contact the owner.
Anyone who can help trace the owner can contact the dog warden confidentially on 01903 221064 or dog.wardens@adur-worthing.gov.uk,
