Man in hospital after hit and run in layby
A PEDESTRIAN is in hospital after being hit by a car in a layby.
The man, who is in his 60s, was hit by the car on the A283 at Steyning on Wednesday.
The driver of the car then drove off from the scene.
The victim is currently being treated for his injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Two men have since been arrested and police say they are still in custody.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dash cam or CCTV footage which may have captured it, to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 1073 of 05/06.
