Traffic is being delayed by a broken down car in the Southwick tunnel.
Tailbacks are building on the A27 following the incident this morning.
An AA spokesman warned of delays of 22 minutes on the A27 Shoreham bypass, with an average speed of five mph.

He said: "One lane is blocked and there is very slow traffic due to a broken down vehicle on the A27 (Southwick Tunnel) westbound between the A293 (Portslade / West Hove turn off) and the A270 Upper Shoreham Road (Southwick / Holmbush turn off).
"Congestion is stretching back to the Hove Turn-Off.
"Lane one, of two, is blocked."
