On this day ten years ago The Argus was in attendance to see pop sensation Katy Perry rock the Brighton Dome. We caught up with some talented young circus performers being put through their paces and we met a woman who received an MBE for services to sport
Here we have a throwback to pop sensation Katy Perry headlining a show at the Brighton Dome
Katy broke on to the music scene in 2008 when her hit songs I Kissed A Girl and Hot n Cold proved a huge success in the charts
Here she is pictured playing Brighton Dome in the summer of 2009
Her stage set up is far bigger now, as she often headlines big arenas across the world
Next up is the Brighton and Hove Youth Circus performed aerial acts during the Family Festival at the Brighton Dome. The children aged between 12 and 16 performed on tightropes and silks
The group has practised for weeks to get their performance up to scratch
Some of their tricks and acts were extremely impressive, especially for people so young
And Margaret Tuppen from Ovingdean is to receive an MBE for services to sport
Margaret is president of Brighton swimming Club and secretary of the Sussex County Amateur Swimming Association
