Reginald D Hunter
Brighton Dome, Brighton, tomorrow
Having plied his trade in the UK for 20 years, Reginald D Hunter is out on the road in celebratory fashion.
Originally from the American deep south, the comic has delighted fans on this side of the pond for two decades and has never struggled to find an audience.
Now based in the north west, Reginald is a charismatic and smooth talking individual who is never shy about being brutally honest in his comedic style.
Controversy is not far away when Reginald is on stage.
Zog
Pavilion Theatre, Worthing, today until Sunday, June 16
Another great show to take your children to next week, and
another that is adapted from a popular book. Based on the character created by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Zog is a magical creature whose goal in life is to earn a gold star at Madam Dragon’s school - where dragons go to learn what they need to know. Zog tries hard to make this goal happen and has plenty of help from his friends, but that doesn’t mean it will be easy. The show is uplifting and beautifully backed by a host of live folk musicians.
Roman Romp

This show is most definitely not for little ones. An adult look at one of the world’s greatest empires, Roman Romp is a comedy show set in the “Temple of Vesta” where the practice of celibacy is the main way of life. The story follows Frigella the Fulfiller who wants to escape the temple to the more fun-loving one next door. She and her friends are eager to find a way out but have to first get past the high priestess Virginia Creeper. If you’re a fan of sex jokes then Roman Romp is probably a good fit for you.
Little Miss Sunshine
Theatre Royal, Brighton, today and tomorrow
Based on the cult hit film of the same name, Little Miss Sunshine follows the story of Olive Hoover, a ten-year-old girl who desperately wants to be a beauty queen. With the help of her family she enters the Little Miss Sunshine pageant and has to make the 800-mile trip to California from her home in New Mexico. The film has a big cult following and is loved across the world. It has been interesting to see it translate to the stage and takes the audience on a slightly different take to the big screen version but ultimately it all ends in the same place and that is what matters.

Having established herself in London, and with appearances on Live At The Apollo, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, 8/10 Cats and Have I Got News For You, Shappi was also elected president of the British Humanist society in 2017.
The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
Brighton Open Air Theatre, Brighton, Wednesday June 19 and Thursday, June 20
William Shakespeare is celebrated as one of the greatest playwrights in the world. His work is known across the world - and there is plenty of it to get through. That is probably why The National Production Company’s Complete Works of Shakespeare show has had to be abridged - or the audience would be there for hours. Weaving their way through the entire back catalogue of the Bard in one night of comedy, drama and action, the group of actors has some job on their hands remembering what scenes go where and from which plays. This show has been billed as a 12 plus show, as there may be some adult themes and will be a different take on Shakespeare’s work.
Mike Farris
The Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham, Thursday, June 20

An original member of blues outfit the Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies, Farris has been a solo act since 2001 and has the stage presence of an entire band all by himself.
With his rocking guitar riffs and brilliant voice he is sure to wow audiences at the Ropetackle next week.
Il Divo
Brighton Centre, Brighton, Thursday, June 20
With more than 30 million album sales worldwide, Il Divo have become one of the best selling operatic acts of all time.
Named Artist of the Decade at the Classic Brits in 2011, the group’s success shows no signs of slowing.
The four men, Carlos Marin, Urs Buhler, Sebastien Izambard and David Miller, seemlessly blend classical music and silky pop ballads and have proved that they are more than just a one trick pony when it comes to the songs they produce.
