A VIDEO from Elton John’s show at the County Ground has appeared online.

The clip, posted on Elton’s official YouTube page, shows the star playing Your Song with actor Taron Egerton... who plays Elton in the popular biopic film Rocketman.

The video starts by panning over the stage, set up at Sussex County Cricket Club’s ground, with the sea and houses in Hove visible in the background.

Elton, dressed in a pink dressing gown, says: “There’s a film out called Rocketman and I haven’t had a guest on any of these shows on the Farewell to Yellow Brick Road tour.

“But tonight I’m going to bring out me. I’m going to bring out the guy who plays me.”

He proceeds to introduce Egerton who walks on stage and gives Elton a hug.

Elton sits at his piano and starts to play Your Song with the crowd singing along at full volume.

Taron joins in for the second verse of the song.

When he sings “My gift is my song and this one’s for you,” he points meaningfully to the man who he portrays on the big screen.

As the song ends the pair embrace again as Elton continues with the show.

The 72 year old pop legend wowed fans in Hove as part of his farewell tour.

Stars like Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and David Walliams were at the show - as well, of course, as Taron.

Elton made his way through 25 of his greatest hits, as he performed his final ever show on the south coast. Songs like opener Bennie and the Jets, Tiny Dancer, I’m Still Standing, Candle in the Wind and Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting went down a storm as fans stood in awe of the music legend.

When it was first announced, the show sold out in no time at all with fans eager to catch one final glimpse of their hero before he bows out of live performing.

Despite this show being his last in the county, Elton’s farewell tour is far from over.

The tour will go across the world for even more dates before finally ending at the O2 Arena in London on December 16 2020.
