The London to Brighton Bike Ride is taking place this weekend.

More than 17,000 people will take part in this year’s 54-mile cycling challenge to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

On Sunday, the first set of riders will leave at 6am and the final wave will leave at 9.30am.

The riders will begin to arrive about six hours later.

There will be a “Beach Village” near Madeira Drive which will have food and drink stalls.

The Argus:

Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront will be closed between 6am until midnight.

Mill Road will be closed between 7.30am until 9pm.

Old Steine from St Peters Church to Aquarium roundabout will be closed between 7.30am until 8pm – the road will be open for left hand lane cyclists only.

The B2028 from Dukes Head and North Street at Turners Hill will be closed northbound from 6.30am until 4pm.

The B2028 from Turners Hill to Summerfield Lane will be closed southbound between 6.30am until 5pm.

Oathall Avenue to Sussex Square roundabout southbound will be closed from 6.30am until 5.30pm.

The B2112 from Rocky Lane to Folders Lane will be closed southbound from 6am until 5.45pm.

The B2112 from Common Lane from Folders Lane to Ditchling will be closed from 6am until 5.45pm.

Northend Lane to Beacon Road will be closed between 6am until 6pm.

And Beacon Road over Ditchling.

Beacon to Coldean Lane will be closed from 6am to 6.45pm.
