A MAN has been charged with the attempted rape and false imprisonment of a woman at the Royal Pavilion Gardens.
Police were called to the Indian Gate at 5.45am on Saturday, June 8.
The area was closed off by officers for the day.
Now police say Andrew Ford, 23, a labourer, of Bramble Way, Brighton, was arrested on Saturday 15 June and taken into custody.
He has since been remanded in custody to face the two charges at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 19 June.
Detectives are continuing to investigate, and anyone with any information which could assist in the investigation is encouraged to report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Cobalt.
