A YOB stole beer from a supermarket then abused a security guard.
Sean Sye spouted the abuse at Morrisons in St James’s Street, Brighton.
The 44-year-old shouted racist abuse at Syed Naguib in the store when he was challenged.
He admitted theft and racially aggravated harassment when he appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court last week.
District judge Tessa Szagun heard that he was in breach of previous community orders made for offences including possessing drugs and stealing alcohol when he was in Northampton and also in Brighton.
Sye, of Cavendish Place, Eastbourne, had originally denied racially abusing Mr Naguib, but changed his plea to guilty.
He was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and five rehabilitation days.
Judge Szagun also ordered him to pay £200 in compensation to Mr Naguib.
