A patron of the venue he will be performing at, Simon Evans is a fan favourite in the city and will be gracing the stage at the open air theatre to introduce some on the UK’s finest comedy talent.

As part of his Potted Preview shows, Simon will host some up-and-coming talent from the British comedy circuit who will all be running through their Edinburgh Fringe previews.

Simon himself will act as the compere and with his deadpan style of humour is sure to go down a storm - as will his special guests.

Woman to Woman

Theatre Royal, Brighton, Monday, June 24

The Woman To Woman tour brings together three women who have each made a mark on a certain decade in music.

Julia Fordham, Beverley Craven, pictured, and Judie Tzuke have combined forces to form a supergroup and are heading out on tour.

The trio were all popular in their respective decades and have proved just as popular as a group.

This unique collaboration is a rare chance to see all three performing their classic hits and album tracks together alongside their band.

An Evening of Eric and Ern

Pavilion Theatre, Worthing, tomorrow

In this brilliant comedic show Olivier Award-nominated duo Jonty Stephens and Ian Ashpitel star in a homage to comedy legends Morecambe and Wise. The performance is crammed full of renditions of those famous comedy sketches that hit all the right notes and put Morecambe and Wise at the top of the comedy ladder. The show is full of some of their most memorable routines, songs and sketches and there will be musical guests added in for good measure. It is a perfect evening if you fancy a taste of nostalgia with comedy that pays tribute to two of the greatest English comics. The real Morecambe and Wise formed in 1941 and quickly became of one the most popular acts in the country. They performed together for more than 40 years until the death of Eric Morecambe in 1984.

Les Musicals

This is a concert that brings together some of the biggest and best hit songs from the West End and Broadway. If you want to go and see a musical but are unsure about which one, then Les Musicals binds all the greatest musical songs into one show. With songs from shows like Les Miserables, Phantom Of The Opera, Blood Brothers, Wicked, Jesus Christ Superstar, Carousel and many more there is no shortage of great singalongs. Popular UK tenor Jonathan Ansell will feature heavily in the show, as will 2011 Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall.

Back on tour again, host of Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown Jimmy Carr has a new show that is already leaving audiences across the country in stitches.

Jimmy’s new show, Terribly Funny, contain jokes about all the terrible things that may have happened to yourself or people you know.

Fans are warned that “having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo”.

If you’re a fan of Jimmy’s TV work you will love his stand-up act.

The Merchant of Venice

Brighton Open Air Theatre, Hove, Wednesday, June 26 – Saturday, June 29

The Brighton Shakespeare Company (BSC) returns to the Open Air Theatre next week with their performance of The Bard’s infamous tragic comedy The Merchant of Venice. The show features a female Shylock and blends the classic attributes of any Shakespeare show with the BSC’s famous house style. The company has been performing shows across the city for years and has become renowned for putting its signature twist of famous Shakespeare tales.

The Damned

The fact that punk rockers The Damned had to add a second Brighton date to their tour due to phenomenal demand should speak volumes about how popular the group are.

Instrumental in helping turn punk rock into the phenomenon it became, The Damned have managed to stay musically relevant.

Back with original members Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible, The Damned have never been

afraid to push the envelope musically.

Some Guys Have All the Luck: The Rod Stewart Story

Theatre Royal, Brighton, Thursday, June 27

This stage production celebrates the career of one of pop’s most enduring figures. The show marks more than 50 years in music for the singer and Paul Metcalfe gives a charismatic performance as Stewart. Paul has been heralded for his singing ability, which sees him mimic Rod to the last detail - from the distinctive vocals to the swaggering showmanship.

The show includes all the massive hits from Rod’s long career, including Maggie May, Baby Jane and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy through to big ballads such as Sailing and You’re In My Heart.

Elvana

Concorde 2, Brighton, Friday, June 28

Do you love Elvis? Do you love Nirvana? Have you ever wanted to see the King of Rock and Roll front the Nineties’ grunge band?

It is unlikely you will have answered yes to all three of these questions but if you did then Elvana is the show to see.

This is a group that flies through some of the greatest grunge songs to come out of Seattle – with the help of an Elvis impersonator as the lead singer.

This show is certainly a spectacle.
