A MAN was stabbed after a confrontation in the city centre.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the 38-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in New Road, Brighton.
The incident happened near the Royal Pavilion Gardens at about 5.30am on Saturday, June 15.
Police say the man had surgery, and was put in an induced coma, where he remains in a stable condition.
Detectives have appealed to track down Arron Owston, who they believe has information about the stabbing.
He is white, stocky, and has a northern English accent.
It is understood he may be known among rough sleepers in the city.
Detective Inspector Ian Still, senior investigating officer, said: “This would appear to have been an isolated incident, but extra officers have been patrolling in the area to provide reassurance.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have further information concerning this incident.
“We are also trying to trace Mr Owston, so would also appreciate his coming forward or hearing from anyone who has seen him recently or who may know where he is.”
