A FAMILY have described their heartbreak after a cyclist was killed in a crash.

Antoney Colley was cycling on the A2690 at Combe Valley Way in Bexhill.

He was struck by a Vauxhall Astra, and died at the scene at 6.20am on May 26.

The 53-year-old security officer, of Sewell Avenue, Bexhill, was a proud stepfather and step-grandfather.

His family said: “Antoney was one of a kind, he would do anything for his family and friends.

“He was a friendly, caring person, he was generous and would always be willing to help even strangers.

“He loved to talk to everyone.

Wonderful

“Antoney was a wonderful husband, stepdad and step-grandad, and he took pride in talking about his family.

“We have a gaping hole that can never be filled, as he was so tragically taken from us, but will live on in our hearts for ever.

“We cannot thank the emergency services enough and the care that he received at the scene.”

Police say a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, and released on bail until June 23.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 and quote Operation Newell.

Mr Colley’s funeral will be at Bexhill Cemetery on July 1 at 11am.
