A DEEP sink hole has emerged in a busy road.

Passerby Debora Serravalle spotted the hole in Lewes Road in Brighton this afternoon.

She said: “Owners of a shop nearby put out some cones/tape but it’s very dangerous as it’s getting bigger.”

The police and members of Brighton and Hove City Council are currently dealing with it.

A police spokesman said he wants to thank the quick thinking member of the public who coned the hole off as it may have saved a motorcyclist or small car from a potential nasty incident.

He said: “We have been in touch with Brighton and Hove Council Highways call out team, who had already been made aware by Brighton and Hove Buses. They are on scene now dealing with it, I would expect this may take some time to fix properly.”
