A NURSERY has been recognised for its excellent standards for the third time in a row.

Early Birds nursery in Seaford Baptist Church, Belgrave Road, Seaford, is celebrating being rated “outstanding” in its latest Ofsted report.

Inspectors said the managers and staff have exceptional knowledge of early years teaching and children make rapid progress in their learning.

The outside area at the nursery is of an excellent standard and inspectors said there was a wide range of activities available for the children.

Their report said: “Staff engage and highly motivate children with their dedication and enthusiasm for teaching.

“The manager and staff go way beyond expectations to provide a positive learning environment for children.

“This significantly contributes to children’s wellbeing and their love of learning.

“Children’s safety and well-being is given the highest priority.

“Senior staff continuously evaluate all procedures to protect children from potential risk.”

It said the pre-school promotes a “child-centred environment” and all children, including those with special education needs, and those who speak English as a second language, make excellent progress.

Inspectors said: “Children thoroughly enjoy their learning and make rapid progress from their starting points.

“Children develop a wealth of skills which help them become confident and ready to start school. They listen well, communicate clearly, ask questions and show interest and curiosity in everything around them.”

One parent described the nursery as magical.

Manager Vanessa Ayres was praised in the report.

Inspectors said: “The manager is passionate in her drive for excellence.

“She leads a team that are highly committed and knowledgeable, with exceptional skills that help enrich children’s learning.”

Inspectors also noted the quality of teaching as exceptional and said the nursery provides a “fun, homely environment that allows every child to quickly feel at ease”.

Mrs Ayres said: “It’s just great news, really great.

“Staff, children, parents and committee are delighted that Early Birds Pre-school have been awarded the amazing achievement of outstanding for the third time in a row.

“And one parent described it as magical, which is wonderful.”
