HEAVY rain and thunderstorms are expected across the South East.
The Met Office has placed a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across the whole of Sussex.
It warned that there is a "chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds".
It also said there could be "fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life" as well as "a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services".
Drivers were advised to take precautions when travelling in "difficult conditions".

A Met Office spokesman said: "On flooded roads, think before driving through deep water. Don’t stop in standing water and drive through the highest section of the road slowly. If there is any doubt don’t enter it.
"Once you have managed to drive through check your brakes and dry them out as quickly as possible. A light touch of the brakes whilst still moving should do the trick.
"Also remember to give vulnerable road users including cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians more room than usual.
"They are more likely to be blown around by side winds. Always keep a safe distance."
The weather warning is in place until midnight tonight.
