The famous Paddle Round The Pier returns in July. Hundreds flock to the beach every summer to take to the water on their own unique craft. In today’s Timeout we take a look back at Paddle Round The Pier events from the past decade.
First up, this isn’t a scene out of Jaws, just a makeshift shark joining in the fun

A scaled-down Paddle Round The Pier was held on Saturday, July 19, 2008, after it was cancelled the previous week due to bad weather.
However it was again deemed unsafe to complete the route around the West Pier due to strong tides and so the entrants had a mass paddle anyway
