A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital after a hit and run.

The young boy was hit by a black VW Golf on Saturday evening.

But the driver failed to stop and made off from the scene.

The incident happened in the High Street outside the Blue Dolphin fish-and-chip shop in Hastings Old Town at about 6.45pm.

The four-year-old local boy was taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards with an injured foot and received treatment for bruising.

Police are now searching for the driver, who whose car had a “distinctive green sun visor across the top of the windscreen, silver or white alloy wheels, and a blacked-out VW front grille badge”.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We would like to speak to the car driver, anyone who saw what happened, or anyone who may have mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident.

“They are asked to contact Sussex Police online or by phoning 101, quoting serial 1237 of 22/06.”
