A TEENAGER has been arrested after a car flipped blocking the A259.
The incident happened early this morning near Newhaven and emergency services attended the scene.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Police attended a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A259 Seaford Road, Newhaven at 6.35am.
"An 18-year-old man from Newhaven was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving and, as of 2.45pm today, he remains in custody."
At the time an AA spokesman said: "The road is partially blocked due to a rolled over vehicle on the A259 Seaford Road both ways between Mill Drove and the B2109 Avis Road.
"Traffic is coping well."
But the spokesman warned drivers to expect delays on the A259.
He said: "There are delays of eight minutes and the delays are increasing on the A259 Marine Drive Westbound in Rottingdean.
"The average speed is ten mph.
"There are also delays of five minutes and the delays are increasing on the A259 Westbound in Exceat, near Seaford, with an average speed of ten mph."
At 9am the spokesman said traffic had returned to normal in the area.
