A TEENAGER has been ordered to complete unpaid work after attacking a police officer.
Bailey Chapman admitted being drunk and disorderly near his home in Longley Road, Chichester in March.
Police were called, and the 19-year-old attacked PC Michael Jones, inflicting actual bodily harm.
Chapman had denied attacking the officer, but changed his plea to guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court.
He was ordered to complete the Thinking Skills Programme and complete 100 hours of community service.
Magistrate Jacqueline Bonner said the offences were also serious enough for a 16-week suspended prison sentence, and £200 compensation for the PC.
