A POLICE officer who raped a student on the Caribbean island of Antigua has been dismissed from his role.
PC Lee Martin-Cramp, of Lewes, was convicted of rape by the island’s High Court last month.
This week, the Metropolitan Police held a Special Case Hearing.
The 26-year-old joined the force in 2014, and served in Wimbledon.
He was in Antigua in May 2015 when the rape happened.
A panel heard his conduct amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct and honesty and integrity.
The allegations were found as proven and PC Martin-Cramp, formerly of Hereward Way, Lewes, was dismissed without notice.
PC Martin-Cramp was found guilty of one count of rape after a trial in Antigua which concluded on 23 May.
He will be sentenced in Antigua on July 11.
