JOBS could be at risk as a major high street retailer announced it will axe 200 shops.
Boots has confirmed plans to close hundreds of stores in the next 18 months but has not named which branches will be shutting.
It has hinted that closures will mainly affect pharmacy branches in locations where other stores are close by.
The retailer has four shops in Brighton (St James’s Street, St George's Road, North Street, and London Road).
There are also three branches in Hove (George Street, Queens Parade and The Parade), one in Portslade (Boundary Road), plus dozens of others in towns across Sussex.
The closures come as part of an announcement by Boots’s parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance to make £800 million of cuts across the firm.
The retailer has promised to find new roles for sacked staff where possible.
