AN ELDERLY man has gone missing at a festival.

Kevin Molloy planned to meet a friend yesterday at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

His friend organised to meet him at 7pm but the 79-year-old never arrived at their agreed meeting point.

He was last seen at midday when he was stood on the festival's Lotus Stand.

A Sussex Roads Police spokesman said: "If you were at Goodwood Festival Speed on Sunday did you see 79-year-old Kevin Molloy who has gone missing after attending the event?

"He was last seen on the Lotus stand between noon and 1pm."

Mr Molloy, from Knutsford in Cheshire, had stayed at Scotts Farm campsite in West Wittering for the previous two days and was due to travel to Basingstoke for an overnight stay at a Premier Inn.

He is a regular church-goer, attending a Catholic church in Chichester on Saturday and another in East Wittering on Sunday.

Police have said "it is possible that he was seen walking towards East Wittering around 6.30pm on Sunday evening".

Mr Molloy is white, 5ft 10in tall and of slim build with white hair.

He was wearing a blue patterned jumper and a beige coat, and was carrying a black rucksack.

He also wears black thick-rimmed reading glasses.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts or who sees him is asked to dial 999 immediately quoting serial 1331 of 07/07.

At 6.20pm Sussex Police provided an update.

A spokesman said: "Missing Kevin Molloy, who had not been seen since attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Sunday, has been found.

"The 79-year-old has been located back at his home in Knutsford, Cheshire."
