A FIRE raged in a large cement lorry causing a road to be closed.
In a video of the incident large flames can be seen leaping from the vehicle and smoke is blowing across the road.
The incident on the A272 Cowfold Road, south of Horsham was first reported this morning.
Emergency services are attending the scene.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "At 11.29am emergency services were called to the A272 near Cowfold where a cement lorry was reported to be on fire.
"The road was closed at its junctions with the A24 Worthing Road at Buck Barn and Littleworth Lane, west of Cowfold, while the incident was dealt with.
"The blaze was reported to be out at 11.55am.
"There were no injuries.
"At 1.20pm road closures were replaced by a contraflow system, pending full recovery of the burned out lorry and resultant debris.
"While the incident was being dealt with further disruption occurred with a collision between a car and a van on the A272 just west of Buckbarn Crossroads.
"The car driver sustained a foot injury.
"The van driver was shocked but otherwise unhurt.
"Following a partial road closure, the scene was cleared at 1.20pm."
At about 12.30pm a West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews from Horsham and Partridge Green are currently dealing with a large vehicle on fire on the A272 Cowfold Road near Park Lane, West Grinstead.
"Sussex Police are on the scene and have closed the road from the Buckbarn Crossroads at the A24. Please avoid the area."

An AA spokesman said: "The road is partially blocked due to a tanker fire on the A272 Cowfold Road both ways at the junction with Littleworth Lane.
"The road was closed for a time for safety reasons."
