A CAR has crashed into the central reservation on the A27 blocking the road.
The incident happened between the junction with the B2123 The Drove and the A277 at about 3.30pm.
An AA spokesman said: "The road is partially blocked and there is very slow traffic due to a crash on the A27 both ways between the B2123 The Drove (Falmer / Rottingdean Junction) and the A277 (Ashcombe Roundabout).
"A car has collided into the central reservation.
"It is affecting traffic between Brighton and Lewes."

He also warned of delays in the area.
The spokesman said: "There are severe delays of 13 minutes with delays increasing on the A27 eastbound approaching Falmer.
"The average speed is ten mph.
"There are also delays of four minutes on the A27 south of Lewes."
Reports from the scene of the crash at about 5.40pm said the blockage had been cleared but some delays remained in the area.
