PARENTS, students and teachers are marching against plans to force a school to become an academy.
Moulsecoomb Primary School was given an “inadequate” rating by Ofsted inspectors in May.
The school has since received an order from the Department for Education which will force it to become an academy in an attempt to improve standards.
But a group of parents, teachers, pupils, union members and councillors have voiced their anger at the decision.
The march we will be assembling at the school from 9.30am.
At 10am it will head down Lewes Road, past The Level, turning right at St Peter's Place and up Ditchling Road.
Then, it will head back to The Level.
Once there, a short rally will be held, with speeches from parents, governors, councillors, staff and others, followed by a family picnic.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Sussex Police have asked people to be careful if you are driving on the roads.
