Many post-menopausal women have disappointing sex lives.

That is according to new research from the Brighton University.

Of the 4,000 participants in the survey, 65 per cent had partners.

Only around a third of these women were sexually active.

Of those asked, 27 per cent said that their partner’s medical condition was the issue.

And 13.5 per cent said a partner’s sexual dysfunction as having an impact.

Dr Helena Harder, from Brighton University, said: “Women spend a large part of their life postmenopausal, and a healthy sex life should be part of that.”
