A BURST water main is causing severe delays on the A27.
It happened at the Drusillas Park roundabout, near Polegate.
There are temporary traffic lights in place and an AA spokesman warned of "severe delays of 36 minutes".
He said: "There is a burst water main and temporary traffic lights on the A27 between Brown Jack Avenue and Station Road (Drusilla's Roundabout).
"Temporary traffic lights have been put in place as a result.
"Callers have reported that the temporary traffic lights are currently stuck on red. Travel time is about 40 minutes.
"There are severe delays of 36 minutes in Lewes Road westbound between the A27 Polegate By Pass and the A27 (Milton Street turn off), but the delays are easing.
"There are also delays of eight minutes in the Polegate By Pass westbound between the A27 and the A27 Polegate By Pass."
At 9am the AA spokesman reported the incident had been dealt with but there was still slow traffic between the Drusillas roundabout and Polegate.
