CINEMA lovers can see new and classic films while soaking up the rays on the beach from today.

Following a successful debut last year, the Luna Beach Cinema returns to Brighton.

The giant cinema screen will be up on the beach just off Madeira Drive from today until August 18.

Film fanatics will be able to see films such as A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Mary Poppins Returns and many more, hopefully while lounging around in the sun.

In total, there are 36 screenings across the three weeks the cinema will be running.

The big screen proved popular last year as people took to the beach to watch England’s heroic World Cup exploits.

George Wood, founder of The Luna Cinema, said: “We are so excited to be bringing back The Luna Beach Cinema to Brighton again this summer, after such an incredible first year in 2018 screening the World Cup and a host of

fantastic films on the big open-air screen.

“This year we may not have the football, but we have made sure we have got something for everyone.

“This includes popular family favourites, the year’s biggest hitters and popular classics too.

“Theatre fans will enjoy an exclusive National Theatre Live screening of Brighton set comedy One Man, Two Guvnors.

“There is nothing better than relaxing on the beach with friends and family, with the sun hopefully shining down, a cold drink in your hand, watching a fantastic film or performance on a giant 10 metre high definition LED screen.

“Set to the backdrop of the Brighton Palace Pier and beach, Brighton is no doubt the place to be this summer.”

Visitors are advised that picnics and food and drink are not permitted to be taken into the cinema from outside.

All tickets must be booked in advance as capacity is limited.
