HOW can anyone with even half a brain cell can consider building more homes along the A259 from Eastbourne to Worthing and beyond?

The whole road is quickly becoming a car park at peak times and a crawler lane in between.

Let me relate my recent experience. At 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon I crawled from before the marina to Peacehaven. I rarely got out off first gear but most of the time I was stationary.

Every side road had several cars waiting to join the main road as everyone was so fed up crawling they would not let them out.

So what will happen if more houses are built?

It will result in more people, resulting in more cars coming on to the road. Chaos, utter chaos.

I ask this question... how much longer will it take to get to work? I hate to think. How much extra CO2 gas will be produced.

Of course this does not get taken into consideration nor the extra pressure that will be put on our services.

Where will the cars park if no off street parking is provided? At present the side roads are like a slalom course because of the parked cars.

I was told by a person living in Brighton that unless he got home by 7pm there were no parking spaces.

When will “the powers that be” realise and accept the South of England is full to bursting as is the whole of the UK. In fact the whole of the world. It is the prime reason for global warming.

Let me give a hypothetical example of this situation. If you go to a restaurant and all the tables are occupied and you cannot get one you don’t tell the waiter to squeeze more tables into an overcrowded restaurant.

You go somewhere else. That’s life.

Without wishing to offend by quoting the Bible, but even Jesus was born in a stable as the inn was full.
