THE devastated mother of a woman who went missing has been told a gang killed and cremated her.

Worthing woman Georgina Gharsallah, 31, disappeared on March 7 last year without a trace.

Now, her mother, Andrea Gharsallah, 57, has been sent horrifying messages claiming that her daughter was killed because she was involved in drugs.

The heartbroken mother, who has received similar messages in the past, said : “You have got to take it seriously because so many people are sending it to you.

“You read it and you think, well it could have happened.”

One message sent to Andrea read: “I heard she was dead by this gang and ting cos she was involved with bare drugs and they cremated her (sic).”

Another chilling message said: “She is dead, and that it was a gang that killed her.”

Mrs Gharsallah said: “We heard the story earlier this year but they were not as in depth as the ones we have received in the last couple of months.

“So many people are saying they have overheard this, or have been told that.

“But the police have no intention of following this up and say they’ve received no police intelligence or street intelligence.”

Georgina was last seen on CCTV at Clifton Stores in Worthing on March 7, 2018.

She is as 5ft 4in with black hair, olive skin, dark brown eyes, and a lip piercing.

On the day she went missing she was wearing grey clothing, grey boots and a white scarf.

Since her disappearance, her desperate mother has searched for any clue that may lead her to answers.

She said: “We haven’t done any more searches. The police have said it’s pointless, they have no idea where to start. We’re trying to focus on the last items of clothing.

“We’ve been doing that at the moment to see if it will trigger off anyone’s memory.”

Sussex Police are treating offering £5,000 for information to find Georgina.

A spokesman said: “Georgina Gharsallah is being treated as a high-risk missing person.

“Despite there being a large number of lines of enquiry, including potential sightings, when followed up, none of them have proved to be Georgina.

“In any investigation, the senior investigating officer will formulate a number of hypothesis based on the information they have at the time.

“Information that then comes into the enquiry will test each of those hypotheses.

“At this time, there is nothing to indicate that Georgina is deceased. However, it will obviously remain one of the potential hypothesis.”
