A PRIDE football match featuring ex-Premier League players will take place tomorrow.
On Sunday, Whitehawk FC in Brighton will host a match between Premier League All-Stars and LGBT team dubbed the “Rainbow Rovers”.
Former Brighton and Hove Albion player Guy Butters will feature alongside other soccer stars such as Keith Gillespie and Kevin Davies.
Rainbow Rovers will be managed by transgender author and broadcaster Sophie Cook.
Sky Sports News presenter Mark McAdam and Ryan Atkin, the first openly gay referee, will play.
Ms Cook said football is a “universal language that transcends social barriers”.
She said: “this game will send out the message that the beautiful game belongs to everyone regardless of sexuality, gender identity, race, or religion.
