A ROAD has been cordoned off as police investigate an ongoing incident.
Officers have closed off part of Cambridge Road in Hove with police tape and cars blocking the street.
A passerby said they had seen forensics going in and out of a flat within the cordoned off area.
They added that police had been at the site since the early hours.
Many residents stood outside their homes as several officers wearing shoe guards remained at the scene this morning.
One said: "I don't know what is going on.
"They have been here since I woke up.
"I spoke to one police officer but they said they could not tell me what had happened.
"I heard somebody say they had found a body."
Sussex Police have since released an update on the incident.
A spokesman said: "Police are investigating the death of a man in Hove.
"Emergency services were called at 3.45am.
"A man was treated by ambulance crews but sadly died at the scene.
"His death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
"Officers remain at the scene.
"Anyone with information is urged to contact police quoting serial 33/4."
