Man held on suspicion of attempted rape after late night attack
A MAN has been held on suspicion of attempted rape after a late night attack on a woman.
The 44-year-old woman was assaulted in Hook Lane, Bognor after 10pm on August 1.
Police launched Operation Newfield, and have confirmed a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape on Wednesday this week.
He remains in custody for interview and further enquiries.
Detective Constable Katy Lewis said: "We are grateful for information we have received from the public, which has helped our investigation.
"We are still keen to hear from anyone with any information."
