JOBS could be at risk as a shoe retailer is considering shutting dozens of its shops.

A report by Sky News claimed Office is considering plans to axe half up to half of its shops across the country.

Decisions on whether some shops will shut will come when their lease periods expire, according to Sky News sources.

The shoe retailer has shops in Churchill Square and Cranbourne Street in Brighton.

It also operates the Offspring store in Duke Street.

An Office spokesman said it had no immediate plans to close any shops.
