A MAN with a gun has been arrested.

The incident happened near the West Quay in Brighton Marina this afternoon.

A passerby said the man was seen carrying a gun and had his face covered.

The Argus:

"It was quite scary to be honest," he said.

"He had his face covered and there was certainly a lot of panic in the area.

"I saw the police bagging the gun that he was carrying.

"The police acted really fast which was good because people in the area were definitely getting scared.

"I know there is a gunman on the loose at the moment so thought it was important to let people know."

The Argus:

A police spokesman said: "There was an incident at Brighton Marina. We received information of a man in possession of a fire arm.

"We believe they were replicas and he remains in custody."

He confirmed this was an isolated incident, and has no connection to the incident earlier this week where a man fired a shotgun in East Drive in Queen’s Park, on Sunday, and is still on-the-run.
