THUNDERSTORMS and heavy rain are expected to batter Sussex this afternoon.
The Met Office has just issued a yellow weather warning for the entire South and parts of the Midlands.
Downpours are expected between 3pm to 8pm, when lightning is also likely.
The warning for Sussex states: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms producing flooding and disruption in a few places."
A Met Office spokesperson said: Some flooding of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.
"Possibly some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes.
"There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
"Delays to train services are possible.
"Some short term loss of power and other services is possible."
The warning comes after wind caused havoc acriss the county on Saturday.
