CHILDREN have been urged not to play with fire after a string of incidents.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and Horsham District Council have discovered evidence of a number of small fires across Horsham.

They are suspected to have been started deliberately and firefighters said some could have got out of control.

James McGrath, Horsham Fire Station commander, said: “Sadly it is not uncommon to see a small rise of this type of incidents during the school summer holidays.

“But what may seem as a bit of harmless fun can easily get out of hand.”
