BRAZEN raiders attempted to steal from a bank's cash point using a digger.
The burglary happened at Barclays in North Street, Midhurst, at about 3am this morning.
A digger, believed to have been stolen, was used to smash the cash machine in the shocking early hours incident.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Officers arrived at the scene shortly afterwards, by which time the suspect or suspects had fled.
"A digger, believed to be stolen, was left abandoned.
"A white 4x4 may also have been involved."
The spokeman added that nothing was stolen and enquires are ongoing.
