OWNERS of a popular Brighton nightclub have moved to quash rumours they are closing

As previously reported in The Argus, The Haunt will not be closing, but moving from their current location in Pool Valley.

The club has announced it will continue to run with the same management at a new venue nearby.

A statement from the nightclub said: “Bigger. Better. Braver. Opening on September 19th,

“The Haunt will be taking over five floors in the Savoy Centre (formally the ABC Cinema) just a couple of doors down in Pool Valley in what will be the most audacious new live venue and club to come to Brighton in over a decade!”

The new venue has a capacity of 825 people.

The statement adds: “Filling a much needed hole in the city, the new Haunt will be operating for live music at a whopping 825 capacity.

“But don’t worry, we still love new bands as much as you all do, so we’ve built our live room modular, with retracting walls we will present the live room in 350, 600 and 825 capacity formations.”

“And that’s not all, we’ve also got a 150 capacity room 2 for those more intimate gigs we know you love.”

“Bringing you the most established and respected club nights in the city alongside some brand new parties to truly showcase the scope of the new Haunt, you can expect your most loved nights such as Fat Poppadaddys and Secret Discotheque, alongside new and established nights that will be joining the Haunt family as we deliver bigger and better weekend parties.”

The last night at the old venue will be on Saturday, August 31st. The new venue will open on Thursday, September 19.

The Rock band Basement will be the next to perform at the old venue, on August 21.

The first performer to appear at the new venue will be the rapper Dizraeli, on the opening night.

Tickets for concerts and club nights can be purchased on The Haunt’s website.
