THE SAVE Madeira Terrace raffle is back and bigger than ever.
More than 900 prizes are up for grabs and the draw will take place on August 30, the latest effort to save Brighton’s crumbling Victorian seafront arches.
The draw event will start at 5pm and people are expected to pack The Cricketers pub in Black Lion Street, Brighton, for it.
There will be a tombola before prizes are drawn in front of the crowd.
Every penny will be donated to a fund for the restoration of the Grade II listed arches.
The prizes, which have been donated by generous businesses and residents, vary from ghost tours with Rob Marks to vouchers for coffee bars.
Those wanting to learn about the city could win flights up the i360 or family passes for Brighton Toy Museum.
Adventurous types could take home vouchers for tai-chi lessons, rounds of golf at East Brighton Golf Club and salsa lessons
Animal lovers could win a cat sitting session, catnip and cat harnesses, or dog prints, dog puzzles and doggy hampers.
Foodies might want to win the vouchers for Pizza Pop, a two-course meal at the Plough Inn and a bottomless brunch for four people at the Hilton Brighton Metropole.
Those who like a drink might be more interested in the £100 voucher for The Bristol bar or a round of drinks at the Lord Nelson Inn.
You could even win the chance to present the news on the local TV station, Latest TV or a flight over the city for two people with pilot Neal Cavalier.
Organiser Jax Atkins was behind two previous raffles raising money to help save the historic seafront arches.
The campaign is part of a £24 million plan to bring a new lease of life to the arches.
She said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to all the people who have taken part and contributed prizes to show that they believe the community can come together to save the terraces.
“It’s about raising money for the project and raising awareness of what’s going on. It’s great to have this community spirit from the people of Brighton.
“The terraces are the window to the city. There’s no other structure quite like it in the UK – and probably in the world.”
