I SHARE the concerns of T Charles (Argus letters, August 16) in respect of passengers on buses in Brighton and Hove who put their footwear on to the fabric bus seats.
This display of bad manners is perpetrated by passengers of all ages, both male and female.
Putting the soles of one’s footwear on to the seating on public transport is both unhygienic and antisocial.
I disagree with the unofficial “anything goes” policy.
Owing to falling standards in society, perhaps bus manufactures will need to change to a faux leather or vinyl covering that may be cleaned more easily.
