THIS week students will find out their GCSE results.

It’s been a long, anxious summer for school pupils who finished their exams.

The grades they will receive this week will help people progress to A-levels, or whatever they want to study.

This will be the second year in a row numerical grades have been used.

When is GCSE results day 2019?

This year the GCSE results day falls on Thursday, August 22, 2019 in England and Wales.

The date varies every year.

The schools will be able to get access to the GCSE results from most exam boards the day before.

But this is only for headteachers and exam officers to access.

What time are the GCSE results released?

Most students will be able to pick up their exam results from 10am.

However, the time will sometimes vary between schools.

So it’s worth checking with schoolteachers what time they are allowing students to pick up their results.

If you can’t pick them up in person, schools may allow you to receive them by email or post.

Or you should be able to nominate someone to pick them up for you.

When are the GCSE results 2019 grade boundaries released?

The grading system for GCSE is numerical, and ranges from 9 to U.

It replaced the previous system, which was A* to U.

The grade boundaries aren’t released until 6am on results day itself.

They will be published separately by the individual exam boards.
