SUSSEX Police have released the names of drink drivers caught and convicted during their summer crackdown.

This ran from June 24 to July 7 with 83 people arrested.

Of these, 29 have been convicted in court so far. All others have either been charged, released under investigation or released without charge.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "If you’re prepared to drive under the influence of drink or drugs, prepare to face the consequences.

"These could include a minimum 12 month ban, an unlimited fine, a possible prison sentence, a criminal record, which could affect your current and future employment, an increase in your car insurance and trouble travelling to countries such as the USA."

The most recent drivers to be convicted are:

Terry Skinner, 29, a cleaner, of Storrington Close, Hove, was arrested in the street outside his house on June 24 and charged with driving with 95mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Brighton Magistrates’ Court on August 8 he was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a £360 fine, £85 costs and a £36 victim surcharge.

Martin Luckhurst, 35, a plasterer, of Melrose Close, Hailsham, was arrested in Diplocks Way, Hailsham, on June 26 and charged with driving with 75mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 17 he was disqualified from driving for 20 months. He was also ordered to pay a £370 fine, £85 costs and a £37 victim surcharge.

Ceris Hughes, 44, a residential care worker, of Upminster, Havering, was arrested in New Road, Littlehampton, on June 26 and charged with driving with 113mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 30 she was disqualified from driving for 24 months. She was also ordered to pay a £380 fine, £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Tara Lia, 33, a hairdresser, of Ashford Road, Hastings, was arrested in Ashford Road, Hastings, on June 27 and charged with driving with 85mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 17 she was disqualified from driving for 20 months. She was also ordered to pay a £183 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Oliver Hopkins, 19, a sales representative, of Eagle Road, Rye, was arrested in Pett Level Road, Hastings, on June 28 and charged with driving with 57mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 17 he was disqualified from driving for 15 months. He was also ordered to pay a £250 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Amy Shadbolt, 27, a veterinary nurse, of Cross Way, Lewes, was arrested in Cross Way, Lewes, on June 29 and charged with driving with failing to provide a specimen of breath when suspected of having driven a vehicle.

At Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 18 she was disqualified from driving for 18 months. She was also ordered to pay a £500 fine, £85 costs and a £50 victim surcharge.

Tara Baker, 28, a kitchen worker, of Langley Close, Bexhill, was arrested in Watermill Lane, Bexhill, on June 29 and charged with driving with 98mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 17 she was disqualified from driving for 24 months and given a 12-month community order requiring her to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.

John Walsh, 38, a maintenance employee, of Dewe Road, Brighton, was arrested in The Avenue, Brighton, on June 30 and charged with driving with 53mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 18 he was disqualified from driving for 15 months. He was also ordered to pay a £329 fine, £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

Scott King, 30, a demolition worker, of Snodland, Kent, was arrested in Rye Harbour Road, Rye, on July 4 and charged with driving with 53mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system, driving with no licence and driving with no insurance.

At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 24 he was disqualified from driving for 38 months. He was also ordered to pay a £450 fine, £85 costs and a £45 victim surcharge.

Kenny Morris, 41, unemployed, of Winifred Ratcliffe Place, Hurstpierpoint, was arrested in Winifred Ratcliffe Place, Hurstpierpoint, on July 4 and charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath when suspected of having driven a vehicle.

At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on July 18 he was disqualified from driving for 24 months and given a 12-week community order. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Michael Hall, 39, unemployed, of Winston Crescent, Eastbourne, was arrested in Batts Bridge Road, Uckfield, on July 5 and charged with driving with 105mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 24 he was disqualified from driving for 36 months. He was also ordered to pay a £118 fine, £85 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.

Glenn Cobby, 36, a driver, of Abbots Ways, Lancing, was arrested in High Street, Shoreham, on July 6 and charged with driving with 85mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 23 he was disqualified from driving for 20 months. He was also ordered to pay a £323 fine, £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

Lisa Gaffon, 29, unemployed, of Collyer Avenue, Bognor Regis, was arrested in Collyer Avenue, Bognor Regis, on July 7 and charged with driving with 53mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 23 she was disqualified from driving for 12 months and given a 4-week community order. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs.

Christopher Surridge, 57, an undertaker, of Wilberforce Close, Crawley, was arrested in Tollgate Hill, Crawley, on July 7 and charged with driving with 55mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on July 22 he was disqualified from driving for 14 months. He was also ordered to pay a £346 fine, £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

Benjamin Humphries, 31, a groundsman, of Maybridge Crescent, Goring, was arrested at Goodwood on July 7 and charged with driving with 46mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system and taking a vehicle without consent.

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 23 he was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £422 fine, £85 costs, £50 compensation and a £32 victim surcharge.
