POLICE were called after a Tesco store was raided by thieves.
Customers raised the alarm at the store in Church Road, Hove on Saturday.
One reported that mobile phones were “ransacked” from the store, and none were left on display. It was reported that the area was sealed off at the weekend while officers investigated the crime.
The police said the theft was reported at 7pm on Saturday, with one mobile phone confirmed as stolen.
Two men took the phone, valued at £1,200, from a display stand, the force said. Anyone with information can call 101 and quote 648 of 18/08 or report online.
Tesco said: "We have reported the theft of a mobile phone from our Hove Superstore to the police and are supporting them with their investigation."
