A SERIAL shoplifter has been ordered to stay out of town.
Amy Jones has been convicted of five high-value thefts in Worthing since December.
So magistrates imposed an order to ban her from entering the town centre.
Police say she has “little awareness” of the harm she causes to businesses and visitors in the town.
The 27-year-old, of no fixed address, was ordered to comply with the new criminal behaviour order (CBO).
She is banned from possessing alcohol in public, except from within licensed venues, behaving in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress, threatening violence towards people, and entering the town centre.
PC Robert Luff said: “I am pleased the court approved the application for a Criminal Behaviour Order against Jones as she has showed little awareness of the impact her actions have had on the businesses and community.
“CBOs are available for persistent and repeat offenders whose criminal, nuisance or anti-social behaviour continually impacts on the community.”
Anyone who sees her in Worthing is asked to call the police on 101.
