FOUR fire engines rushed to a holiday resort after smoke was seen pouring from the window of a second floor apartment.

Fire crews were called to Butlins in Bognor at 12.37pm.

As the blaze raged a fire service spokesman said: “We received a report of smoke issuing from a second floor apartment of the Butlins Family Entertainment Resort in Bognor.

“We currently have a total of four fire engines at the scene, crews are using breathing apparatus and jets.”

At 1.40pm the spokesman provided an update.

He said: “The fire at Butlins in Bognor is now under control and breathing apparatus has been withdrawn.”
