IT IS REPORTED that homeless tents have been pitched on the seafront (The Argus, August 22).

In other towns children are being housed in old office blocks and shipping containers.

Yet many planning applications are for tall buildings, again unsuitable for many people, particularly families.

Clearly new tall buildings are being designed to be the most profitable developments.

Should not planning applications be refused unless they full fill needs rather than greed?
