DUE TO the high level of construction of a new school, housing development on the Downsman site and now another housing development in Buckley Close, the north of Hangleton is being swamped by inconsiderate people parking anywhere they can find a space. I witness daily buses struggling to turn left into Hangleton Way from Hardwick Road due to people parking on the corner, thus making it difficult for them to turn left.

Then last week a parking sign suddenly appeared stating “No parking between 9am and 4pm” and a single yellow line opposite Chichester Close, being the point where heavy vehicles turn to access the development at Buckley Close.

If the council can do this why do Brighton and Hove Bus Company not insist that lines are placed on the corners of Hardwick Road to make turning for their buses easier and safer?

The drivers need a medal after all they have put up with since the developments began and don’t get me started on the state of the road surface in Hangleton Way.

Come on Brighton and Hove Buses and the council, it’s a simple and inexpensive solution.
