A THUG attacked a woman in her home while under the influence of alcohol.

Alfie Richardson went to the flat in Totland Road, Brighton.

He attacked a woman there, who The Argus has chosen not to name.

The 49-year-old failed to show up to Brighton Magistrates’ Court for his trial and was found guilty in his absence.

Richardson, of Ditchling Rise, Brighton, was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence.

Court documents revealed it was an “unprovoked attack on the aggrieved in her own home”.

The attack took place in a “domestic context”.

Richardson was “under the influence of alcohol”.

It left the woman in pain for three weeks because of loosened teeth, it was revealed.

Magistrate John Tierney made Richardson pay £200 compensation to the victim and a £40 fine for failing to show up to court.

Richardson was also put under a restraining order until next year.
