Kevin Fraser
Komedia Brighton
Friday, August 30
THE comedian, DJ and YouTuber from South Africa was in his element on the Brighton leg of his Leave The World Behind tour.
This stellar stand-up set took place in Komedia’s intimate studio but still had a good buzz with the sold-out crowd lapping up the punchlines, egged on by Kevin Fraser’s natural ability to make people laugh.
Fraser was deliciously camp, offering comedic commentary on everyday life and social media’s narcissistic nature.
His fortes were physical comedy and accents – both had the audience howling with laughter with even a few tears shed.
Never shying away from self-deprecation, highlights were a cringe-tastic tale of mistakenly assuming his celebrity credentials got him upgraded to business class on a plane as well as anecdotes from his move to Australia that saw him struggle to work in a seafood restaurant when he couldn’t kill a crab.
Fraser’s experience as a DJ wasn’t wasted either as he fused music and stand-up, showcasing some killer dance moves as he recounted stories from his clubbing days.
This hour of quality comedy was followed by a DJ set with many audience members choosing to stay and dance.
You’d struggle to find a better warm up to a night out.
